Redo of Me

Awhile back I attempted to make an action figure of me. I figured how appropriate when I have made other people and many, many scenes. The first attempt was not terrible, however the painting is what ruined it. I applied the paint on the face too thick and it got bumpy. Since then, I wanted to make a new one of me since people always ask, did you do one of you (and I would sort of kick my old one aside and say....well, yes but I want to redo it.)

A guy on the BTVS figs forum, MasterPizza suggested I use a John Quinn from Stargate, I think, figure's head. It did have some potential but it wasn't quite fat enough in the face. I'm more round and his head was more long. I decided to give it a go. So I paired that with a Grave Spike torso, You're Welcome Cordelia arms (since my arms are on the small side), the top part of a Kurt Kobain figure and the bottom part of a Harry Potter figure. I chose the Kurt Kobain figure only for the chair. I needed a swivel chair and I didn't want to make it and the dollhouse chairs were far too expensive on ebay. Plus I got to use part of the figure anyway.
Here are some of the parts:

The pants sculpted:

I also used a plastic piece for my table top and I made the legs from parts of something else.
I had to cut away a lot from the Cordy arm since I didn't want the sleeves to be so low. I also cut off the bracelet on one of the hand. I then sculpted over all of that to make some smooth arms.

I was going to paint the shirt white but I decided it didn't look right so I opted for one of my favorite dark blue shirts. I then painted "Old Navy" on the front instead of "New York" that is really on there. I also painted the pants to look like my favorite dark pants. The shoes I like the most. They look exactly like my shoes!

The table items were easy to do but difficult to paint. There are so many details. I wanted it to look like I was at my computer with some pieces laid out on my desk ready to assemble, sculpt and paint. I was going to drop hints what my next project is on the computer screen, but I decided I liked the main screen page better. Plus I sculpted that piece that is on the screen and it turned out really well. So basically I used a Willow laptop and repainted it to look like mine. Then I added the picture of my main screen. I used the trophy from Cheerleader Buffy and turned that into a Heroes Claire figure, no head. I then sculpted the legs/dress from an Illyria figure, a Cordy top, and an arm. I painted a VHS tape you get with the YW Cordy figure to make it look like my Super Sculpy box. I also used another VHS tape and a book to make a mock of a stand you get with Buffy figures. I used two bottles and painted them to look like paint bottles and I painted some tubes to look like paint tubes. I used hot glue to in a mold of a cup to make my clear cup I used to rinse my brushes. I also covered a wooden shelf with clay and pressed a rag into it to make it look like my carpet. I'm not sure if you can see that in the pictures. One final touch that is important to me is my dog. She has a certain way she lays so I sculpted her in that way and put her under my desk. I really like how it all turned out. The side shots look the greatest, and it looks like me. The full-front shots don't, due to the size of the head and the longness. Anyway, here are the final pictures of the table items, my dog, and me.

This one is a good angle.

This could be my favorite picture of them all. I like this shot of me at my computer with my dog laying by my side.
And here we are!
